Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Colour Blend Foam

I just coloured my hair using the all new Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Colour Blend Foam and have made some rather embarrassing before and after videos so that you can see exactly what the product is like.
You can watch, but you’ll have to promise not to laugh too much at how rubbish my filming skills are! Oh well…here goes nothing!

Some extra information for you:

Photobucket
Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Colour Blend Foam

All you need to do is:

  • Pour the colour blend formula into the activator bottle and shake
  • Screw foamer cap onto bottle and squeeze to create the foam
  • Apply as if you were shampooing
  • You must perform a patch test before use

  • Foam is non-drip for no mess application
  • Delivers multi-tonal dimensional colour with 100% grey coverage
  • Available in 18 natural shades
  • Priced at RRP £6.99
Tips from Clairol:
1.       You only need to shake lightly, ideally for no more than 10-15 seconds, to ensure the colour is properly mixed. The foam is formed in the ‘foamer’ cap when dispensed, not the bottle, so no need for super strong shaking as it may make it less foamy!

2.       Make sure the bottle is held upright, and not horizontally, both when shaking and when dispensing the foam.

3.       If you think you have shaken the bottle too much the foamer cap may not work, so you can dispense the first squeeze into the sink (of course making sure you rinse immediately!) or wait 30 seconds for the foam to collapse to ensure it is the correct consistency.

So what do you think to my awful video?

Can’t wait to hear from you (or maybe I don’t want to know!!)

Lush, thick and beautiful – Ree, your hair is amazing! Personally, I prefer the all-over colour and even from the video, I can see the shine. This colour really suits you and looks considerably more sophisticated.

Really good video. I’m thinking of doing a video, so this is great research.

    Thanks for sharing.

Ohh fab.. I like the fact that your hair looks so even.
I’m still a bit scared about home dyes on blonde hair though..
I just don’t dig the orange look, if you know what I mean..
Thanks for answering back in any case ::)

Hi can you tell me how the color is doing now just over a month later? Is it a slow fade? Is the lighter color starting to show?

  11. ReallyRee March 7, 2011 at 9:09 am #

    To Anon,
The colour is fading slowly but I still really like the colour. It is now slightly lighter at the ends but it is still a nice brown colour.

I have been using Nice’n easy for years. Today was my first experience with the Nice’n easy Foam and I HATED IT!! It was sooooo messy. I had foam everywhere, and it dripped and dripped. My bathroom was a total disaster. My skin was stained from the hair color, I never had this problem before!! And believe me; I know what I am doing when I color my hair. No mess no problems until now! I like nice’n easy hair color but I will NEVER use the foam or recommend it to anyone.

Tips for Foam hair color. Stand in your shower naked to apply, be prepared to stand there for 25 minutes. Otherwise you will drip on your smock or floor. The whole idea about squeezing bottle for the foam to go in your hand is a joke. This is a watery mess, not thick foam like a mousse. This is flimsy watery foam. I ended up just squeezing the foam directly onto my hair to avoid the drips from hand to head. UGH!!!! HATED IT!!!

THANK YOU! Whoever it was that posted above!!! YOU are at least truthful! I loved the results, but the process was HORRIFYING! I had a horrid orangey color from a beauty school screw-up (another story!) and needed it covered. I really was scared the whole time- I DID need two bottles- I bought 3, just in case- Really long hair. But anyhow, The foam did not foam, it was difficult to disperse thru my hair, and although it did turn out quite pretty, I could still se a TINY bit of uneven color, lighter underneath, where the hair-color-non-foam didn’t do it’s job of penetrating, I know I did my job of applying! Well, I want to dye my hair again. I want exactly the color this product gave me. But I do not want to use this HORRID foam. It is for the birds. I will either use the old fashioned kind or go to a salon. I had aweful stains of dark ALL around my forhead and ears, and ALL OVER my bathroom! I think you who did the video went thru the same aweful process, you seem quite nervous in the 2nd part, and it could NOT have been much different than our experiences!

  16. ReallyRee June 1, 2011 at 8:29 am #

    To Anon

I beg to differ. I found the foam very easy to use and have used it again since. If I seem nervous in the video then it is probably because it was the first time I had done video reviews.

What you must understand is that everyone gets on differently with different products.

Had I had a bad experience, I would have shared it with you. However, I was very pleased with the process, the results and the lack of staining on the skin.

All hair dyes will stain the skin if you let them stay on. Best to wipe it away should that happen.

You are entitled to your own opinion, and I would appreciate if you would leave MY opinion to me!

    Thanks for watching.

Thank you Ree, I watched this while I let the color develop, I went from dark ash blonde with blonde highlights to Light Auburn. I have colored my hair for years, and this was my first time using the foam, I am totally with you here. It covered evenly and was very easy to apply. No drips. The color that I got on my skin I wiped off with a wet rag that I had ready, I always get some color on my skin, with regular dye. I loved the even tone to your color, and had the same result, and good work on the vid. It was great, and real!! Thanks!!

  18. ReallyRee June 11, 2011 at 7:04 pm #

    Hi Nance!

Thanks so much for your comment. I am so glad that you got on well with the foam. You are right, whatever you use, it’s impossible to avoid getting it on the skin, but easily fixed with a wet cloth as you say.

I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for your support!!

    Love this product!

  20. Anonymous August 3, 2011 at 11:18 pm #

This product sucks…my face, ear, neck and back are stained brown. Very messy and would never use again. The color is pretty but not worth the money, mess, or bad looking skin stains. They will not come out and ruined a shirt, 2 towels, and my face.

  21. Anonymous August 13, 2011 at 10:46 pm #

I was wondering if anyone can tell me this. I have highlights in my hair and need to have them re-done. My question is can you use this if you already have highlight left in your hair and does color blend foam give you highlight along with the color?

  22. ReallyRee August 15, 2011 at 9:20 am #

    Hi Anon

I used this product to cover over the lighter ends of my hair.

It covered everything evenly and as it faded the highlights came through but in a very natural way.

    Hope this helps

Your hair colour is really nice.. and so even!
I was wondering how long it was from dying it until it faded dramatically? Was it much different from the normal hair dye from clairol?

I used the Clarol Nice & Easy Foam about 1 1/2 months ago, my hair is breaking and dry. It felt dried out when I rinsed the dye out and not much better after the cream rinse. When applying it was a mess, I will NEVER use this product again, also be especially careful with fine hair as it ruined mine..

I am 67 years old and have some gray hair mixed in with my light brown hair. The Nice and Easy foam #8C did a wonderful job of covering the gray. The gray areas are a bit lighter than the previously brown hair, but they look like highlights. I’ve had lots of compliments on my “new hair,” and I love it! I will definitely use the foam, which was very easy to apply, again and again. Thank you for your video.

NEGATIVE ON THIS PRODUCT!!! Sadly, I didn’t open this blog until I was already in the process.I now have Huge dark marks all around on my face and skin using #4 Dark Brown. I have appointments this afternoon…and I tried washing them off as soon as I saw them…before even starting the timer for the 25 minutes.
I have been dying my hair at home for over 30 years. Never have I had any mix stain so instantly. When the gloves even held the stain…I figured I’d be in trouble. And the squeeze bottle – a guy had to have invented that…plan on bigger arm muscles after- they could opt for a pump- plz!!! Thankfully the timer wasn’t done yet while I was watching this video. Her video talks about it coming out darker before the full time is up. I got it out about 7 min early and YES very, very dark past the box color!
I do like the fact it is even, but not the mess! Maybe if I do it again, I would put cream on my face prior in hopes of no staining! But this is the worst hair color product as far as skin staining, and little splatters- yeah no drip though!

enjoyed the video; may try it (have never colored my hair by myself) but after watching your video, I think I can do this!
