Mark Fast At London Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2011 - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Mark Fast Autumn Winter 2011
Well I have to say I was incredibly lucky to get into this show. Not only did I not actually have a ticket, but not all the people with standing tickets were let in. I have two lovely angels from The Times to thank for this one.

I was queueing and they approached me and kindly gave me their spare ticket. As lovers of fashion, they thought it would be dreadful if the ticket had gone to waste. I wan't sure what to do because I was queueing with some lovely friends, but they encouraged me to go and off I went!

This is the first time I have written about London Fashion Week since it was actually happening, and looking back now, it all seems like a bit of a dream.

It was actually a dream come true for me. I completely loved it and it really was liked living in an alternate universe for a few short crazy days. Amazing.

But back to Mark Fast. It was a fabulous show and this designer really does know how to give knitwear that sexy edge.

This season Mark Fast has done something knew and added it an extremely glamorous dose of leather.

The theme was 'A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing' and I could see where he was going with this. The collection started off extremely softly in the natural whites and blacks of the Merino wool with occasional pops of red and orange.

The harder lines were injected with the use of leather with hoods that toughened up the look of the softer wool pieces.

The knits themselves were incredibly architectural with built up shoulders and hemlines all combining to create real dramatic effect.

Mark Fast didn't miss out on one of the hottest colours at London Fashion Week - RED. I adore the classic combination of black and white with pops of red, and this was a very edgy take on it.

And I was happy to see there was more red. On the soles of every pair of shoes. Mark Fast used Christian Louboutin to add the right amount of glamour and sexiness to his collection. Perfect.

There were lots of celebrities at this show I hear. I saw Jo wood and Janice Dickinson but I have to say that I am not that good at star gazing. I am going to need to improve if I want to keep up this lark!

Premier Model Skin - The Model Kit

Premier Model Skin - The Model Kit

I have been a really bad blogger because I should have told you about this one already.

I first came across the the British Brand Monu, which has a heritage of over 30 years experience, just before Christmas when I reviewed their gorgeous Home Spa Duo

I am still using and loving that by the way, so I was excited to hear about this new kit which is being launched in partnership with Premier Model Management.

The kit of seven selected products was chosen by founder of Premier Agency Carole White and Monu skincare experts.  It promises to be the ultimate kit to keep skin in top condition. Exciting hey?!

The launch of the kit will coincide with a Channel 4 series, The Model Agency which is being shown on Wednesdays at 10pm.

I haven't tried the kit yet but I'm super excited to. I am going away this weekend and I am going to take it in place of my usual products to really put it to the test. I'll let you know how I get on. Bonus is, it come in a neat zip-up pouch, which means I have already started my packing. result!

The Model Kit consists of 7 products in a clear pvc bag that is perfect for air travel as well as for an everyday skin regime: Radiance Balm, AHA Night Cream, Collagen Eye Pads. Blemish Treatment, Facial Scrub, Cleansing Wipes, and Hand and Nail Cream.

It will be available to purchase through website for £45.00 from the 1st March.

Have you managed to catch The Model Agency yet? It's a seven parter and started last Wednesday. You can catch up here. It's pretty exciting stuff and will be a fab compliment to Fashion Month, as it follows all the craziness of show season.

Bourjois Spring Summer 2011 Product Launch

Photobucket

Photobucket

I love my Bourjois blogger events.

This time it collided with London Fashion Week and the John Rocha show for which I actually had a ticket.

Photobucket

Still the Bourjois pull was strong enough and I hotfooted it there, from the hectic world of LFW, straight into the calm serenity of the Bourjois press office. And what a lovely relief it was!

As always, yummy refreshments, beautiful product displays and a gorgeous ballerina theme highlighting probably the hottest trend that Spring Summer 2011 has to offer.

The new products for Spring are great and I got to have a good play with them all.

Bourjois New Products for Spring Summer 2011

The Little Round Pot eyeshadows for Spring Summer 11 are shade 05, a beautiful delicate pink, and shade 25, a subtle grey with bucket loads of shimmer.

Bourjois have added two new shades to the Effet Smoky Pencils, Ultra Black (76) and Sand Rose (77). I have been using the Ultra Black and it's a really quick and easy way to get a fab smoky look. You simply draw on like a liner and then use the brush at the other end to blend out. You can go for a subtle look but it is also very buildable for more dramatic effect.

So Laque Asphalte Bleu

There are also two new shades for nail polishes in the So Laque Ultra Shine range - Rose Satin (36) and Bleu Asphalte (37). I have Bleu Asphalte which is gorge, so check back for a post on this one coming up soon.

Sweet Kiss Natrel

Sweet Kiss Naturel has two pretty new shades - Rose Innocence (11) and Rose Passione (13).
I have 11 and it is really lovely. I will be writing about that one soon too.

So there is so much to look forward to from Bourjois. All the new shades will be available from mid April.

For more information visit www.bourjois.co.uk and follow Bourjois on Twitter here. And keep a look out for a bundle of new Bourjois posts very soon.

We had a brilliant response to the Azendi Valentine's giveaway and for days and days, it really was all I could see on my Twitter feed.

Well the competition has closed now and it took quite a while to collate all the responses. Then London Fashion Week came and completely wiped away all reality.

So please accept my apologies for the delay in selecting the winner but my life really hasn't been my own for the last week or two!

I have the winner now and I am pleased to announce that the lucky person is..... @juliedee4663 on twitter.

Congratulations! Please email me at reallyree@gmail.com with your details.

And thanks to everyone that entered, your participation is very much appreciated.

Harrods Launches the Shoe Salon

Photobucket

Last night I attended the launch party of The Shoe Salon at Harrods. It was completely amazing.

Full of fabulous people, wearing fabulous shoes and having fabulous fun, this was definitely a party not to be missed. I have to say, Harrods really do know how to throw a bash.

Photobucket

There was yummy food, even yummier cocktails and a host of very interesting people. The beautiful cupcakes, made in a variety of shoes designs, were the result of a collaboration between master patissier Eric Lanlard and shoe god Patrick Cox. Delicious and stylish. What more could you ask for?

Both gents were milling around the party, as were a host of other well known names including Harold Tillman, chairman of the British Fashion Council, George Lamb, Sophie Ellis Bextor (who told me she liked my dress, by the way!!), Pixie Geldof and Rosamund Pike.

Photobucket

There were fun and games too with a Shoe Hoopla and Hook the Shoe competitions. Obviously I didn't win, but I gave it a good go!!

I also had the chance to catch up with lovely blogger and twitter friends, and also meet some new ones too. Lovely!

The Shoe Salon is stunning and has everything any shoe lover could need. I was practically dying with excitement!

In case you're wondering, I wore my Christian Louboutin Deva 120 suede ankle boots and a dress from Reiss.

Choose from Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Brian Attwood, Givenchy, Lanvin, Chloe, Charlotte Olympia, Miu Miu, Christian Louboutin, Rupert Sanderson.... the list is endless. Hence the excitement!!

Happy shoe shopping

London Fashion Week Taster: Osman Autumn Winter 2011

Well it was pretty tough getting in to this show but it was totally worth it.

Colour blocking, bold horizontal stripes, quilting and fur all combined to put on a completely amazing show. All beautifully tailored with gorgeous clean lines, trapeze shapes and strong zingy colours. It was incredibly uplifting.

Here are my highlights:
