Nails: Kimono by Look Beauty. Dead Ringer for Chanel’s Peridot

Monday, 23rd Jan 2012
If I was a proper beauty blogger I would consider using the word ‘dupe’ in this post. But as I had to look up what that word meant the first time I saw it used in a blog post, I think I feel more comfortable using ‘lookalike’!!
Look Beauty Nail Pop in Kimono
Well it’s not an exact lookalike (slightly darker I think) but Look Beauty’s Kimono is one of the closest examples I’ve seen to resemble uber brand Chanel’s Peridot. And knowing that just makes my hands feel expensive!
I don’t think my boyfriend is a fan of this colour, but then I often find that men are from Venus and women are from Mars when it comes to nail polish (and shoes) so I am not paying much attention to that. I also think it would look way better on a more tanned skin. But I am embracing my ‘milkiness’ for a few days!
The last Look Beauty ‘nail pop’  (as they like to call their polishes) I tried lasted really well for about a week without chipping – but that was applied by a professional at the Look Beauty Launch Event. Check that out here.
There are 32 nail pops in the collection, each costing £5. Here are a few snaps of them I took at the launch last year…

The full Look Beauty range is available at Superdrug stores nationwide. I am a bit of a fan!
What do you think to Kimono?

I love it! Such an unusual shade, very pretty.
They have such a good range of colours, definitely having a look come payday.

I just can’t express in words how much this moves me. It excites me but it makes me sad at the same time. I am so drawn to these polishes, it’s untrue. Kimono has been on my wishlist for so long, and there’s at least 4 of them I’d be quite happy buying: the colours are gorgeous, i love the shape of the bottle, i love the name, i love the font. But there is a massive problem. I wish these polishes were available ‘nationwide’. They are to some extent but only in the biggest of biggest of stores. :(

me again, lol. I think ‘we’ are going to face a problem soon. Fabulous if there are new brands all the time but there is only so much a superdrug can hold. The big superdrug in my next town just managed to get accessorize makeup, let alone the MUA pro, Sue Moxley, Look Beauty, Fashionista etc etc. Maybe some brands should disappear to let some new ones and I d be quite happy for miss sporty for example to leave superdrug for example, or any other brand which exists in Boots.
