New Skincare Favourite: Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner

I absolutely love the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner, in fact, I am very close to being obsessed with it.

Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner Review

Traditionally, I am faithful to mechanical exfoliators, and by that I mean ones that contains 'bits' that physically remove dead skin cells by buffing your skin smooth. I love the sensation and really feel they are doing the job.

And I do believe that exfoliation is key to keeping your skin in the best condition it can be - to keep pores clear and skin bright, to remove dead skin cells and encourage cell renewal. Until recently, I thought this could only really be achieved with products that use this mild abrasion.

The only problem I found was that my skin can become quite dry and sore in Winter, so sometimes an exfoliator with bits can irritate my skin and even inflame any particularly dry areas.

Towards the end of the year, I was really struggling with sore, dry patches and pretty much no amount of moisturiser could deal with it.

And then I went along to a Clarins event where I had a fab skin consultation and was introduced to Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner. And it has pretty much sorted my skin out.

It is basically like a thick toner that you put onto a cotton pad and wipe it over your face. You then leave it for a minute before continuing with your usual serum/day/night/ moisturiser.

It's so simple and easy, no rinsing and no grainy bits stuck in your hairline, so you can do it a few minutes before going to bed and you wake up with soft, smooth, bright skin. It works by gently loosening dead skin cells (thanks to the Tamarind fruit acids) and toning and  tightening and pores (white nettle extract).

It doesn't sting - it just feels super fresh and light and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone with dry, sensitive or even blemish prone skin, where an abrasive formula may aggravate the condition.

I have had absolutely no dry skin issues since I have been using this twice weekly. Yay!

It costs £24 for 125ml which is in fact excellent value because you only need a small drop twice a week. The bottle should last months. Available at department store counters.
