Recently my poor old eyes have been getting tired. I have been finding that I need more light when I read, I have caught myself positioning and re-positioning what I am reading like my mum (and other old people do) and I generally feel it’s a strain to concentrate on my laptop and any smallish print for too long.
And it has only just dawned on me that I might need glasses!! Well I am getting on a bit and both my parents are practically blind! I used to wear them years ago for VDU but I got bored of them and just figured my eyes had healed themselves!!
So I popped down to Specsavers on Tottenham Court Road today and had an eye test, and lo and behold…. yes I do need glasses. Who knew?!
The eye test was pretty painless and quick, although the bit where they puff air into your eyes is unnerving to say the least! No matter how many times I told myself not to be alarmed when it came, I still jumped out of my seat and then smashed my chin back down on the rest! Idiot!
Anyway, I got my prescription and then proceeded to check out the vast range of designer frames that Specsavers have on offer.
I tried on loads but I kept going back to one of the first pairs I tried, some tortoiseshell ones from Spijkers en Spijkers. I liked their show at Fashion Week last time too.
And now all I have to do is wait 5 days. I have already thought about the glasses and whether I have made the right choice so many times that I have forgotten what they look like. I’m a bit obsessive like that you know!
I shall let you see them when I pick them up next week. Exciting eh?
