Launch: The Hollywood Collection by Erno Laszlo

Check out these original pots of Erno Laszlo taken and preserved from Marilyn Monroe's dressing table. Amazing!

Looking at these pots gave me a real feel for the history and heritage of this truly iconic skincare brand whose fans include not only  Marilyn  but a whole range of Hollywood legends.

The Hollywood Collection represents 5 products each of which is inspired by these icons...

The products will be available exclusively at Harrods from April 2012 and can be bought individually or in this £175 limited edition collection.

We each took away a couple of products - I have the Ava Gardner eye cream and everyone had the Morning Beauty Rescue because, as Nadine the lovely PR said, "Everyone needs a   Marilyn !".

And in all fairness it is the product I am most excited by - a super pretty whipped gel that contains a blend of semi-precious gems and liquid pearl. Fabulous!! I shall let you know how I get on!

And just as I final thought, I absolutely adore the idea that this collection is inspired by Dr Laszlo's famous muses. For me, it sure does beat the more regular product endorsements where certain modern day 'stars' supplemented with extensions and digital enhancement swear blind that this drugstore brand is the only one they'll use. As if!

Using these Hollywood legends feels so magical and romantic and everything that the quest for beauty is about for me. And let's be honest, possibly more credible than a tabloid darling being paid millions to say she loves it!

What do you think? Classic, old school glamour inspiration or modern day endorsements? What do you like?
