New Foundation Match Technology from No7 at Boots

Wednesday, 29th Aug 2012
This is serious news for anyone that has ever struggled to find their perfect foundation match!! Check out this gadget which is set to be the answer to most of our makeup worries!
No 7 Foundation Match Made Service Device
No 7 Foundation Match Made Service Device
This is the No 7 Foundation Match Made Service Device and it literally reads your skin in a matter of seconds and then prescribes your perfect match from across the full range of No7 foundations!

And it is brilliant. I had my match done two weeks ago in an office at Boots HQ. The lighting wasn’t particularly good but it still came up with my perfect match which is Deeply Beige in No7 Stay Perfect Foundation. It is an amazing match.

The fact that poor lighting doesn’t affect the performance of the gadget is absolutely key. How often has the shade looked great in the bright lights of the store only for you to get home and discover that it is all wrong! Well those days are over!
To create this gadget, Boots measured the skin colour of approximately 2000 women and created a whole new shade palette based on their findings. There are now over 80 shades available in 7 different foundation formulas across the No7 range – so the No 7 Foundation Match Made Service Device will be able to identify the perfect match for everyone.
This technology is an absolute first for beauty in the UK and is set to revolutionize the market. The technology is exclusive to Boots No7 for a year and the service launches in 668 stores with over 1000 trained No7 advisors ready to use the device today!
Exciting! What do you think?

Good old Ms Eldridge. So So excited about this, it might turn me back to wet foundation for evening make up instead of mineral powder!!

I was really excited about this so went out today and got matched. The shade the device picked for me is perfect! I wouldn’t normally pick No7, but this may have converted me.

I couldn’t resist so went into my local Boots today and my perfect match is deeply beige too. I didn’t buy any of the foundations yet as I have a lovely, yet fast fading holiday tan and I don’t want to cover that up! I will get matched again when I’ve got my winter skin on again and I imagine I will have gone down a shade (to cool beige?). Essentially Natural is what I’ll go for.
Judging from your pictures your complexion seems rather different from mine (fairer). Did you have a tan when your skin was matched? Only curious to know if we have a similar skin tone for makeup tips, etc.

      Hi there!

I did have fake tan on, but to be honest, I always have fake tan on!!

My skin is really fair, but as I usually wear fake tan I tend to get darker shades than my natural skin tone.

      Hope that helps!
