Toss the Toner? Activating is the New Toning Say Super From Dr Perricone

I have recently been 'activating' my skin instead of toning it! Sounds good doesn't it?

Basically I have been using this Moisturising Activator Treatment Prep from Super by Dr Nicholas Perricone after cleansing instead of a toner.

There are a whole range of Activators which target different skin concerns, but as in the Winter months my skin tends to dry out, I went for the Moisturising Activator. Others to choose from are Firming, Clarifying and Brightening.

The Activators very much feel and look like toners but they promise to deliver triple action benefits. My moisturising Activator in particular says it Exfoliates, Saturates and Activates.

The range is designed is put the moisture back into dry, frizzy hair quick smart, and as I am obsessed with curling and waving and heat styling in general, I'm definitely the right girl to test this out!

The shampoo wittily named 'the therapist' is probably the thickest and goopiest shampoo I have ever come across. You have to work to get it to spread across your scalp but it's worth it because it feels super nourishing and hydrating. It lathers nicely once you've got it going and rinses out easily. Also smells good.

The 'therapist' conditioner is a fabbie product too. You apply it to wet hair after you've rinsed away the shampoo, leave it for 2 minutes and then rinse it out. My hair feels silky straight away.

I can easily brush it through when it's wet and any tangles smooth straight out.

When I have more time I have been using the 'great hydrator moisture mask' which comes free in the set with the shampoo and conditioner. You leave this on for five minutes and it leaves my hair extra shiny and smooth.

I think the shine you can see here at my Babyliss shoot is down to EVO...

I'm a major fan of fresh breath. Well who isn't? Ridiculous thing to say! There's hardly going to be anyone out there claiming to be a fan of manky breath is there?

I try to be a positive person and so as you can imagine getting a candle called Happiness really does it for me! I'm already a massive fan of the NEOM Complete Bliss Organic Body Oil, I find it seriously mood changing! You can read all about that here.

The lemon, which is my favourite part of this candle, smells more like a real lemon than a lemon itself!!

Star Style With BaByliss!!

Oh my goodness, I had the most fabbie day today! I was lucky enough to spend the whole day with BaByliss and celebrity hairdresser Beverly C.

The mission was to film some tutorial videos demonstrating quick and easy ways to create beautiful hairstyles using BaByliss styling tools.

The star styles I recreated were Sienna Miller's red caret look, and Adele's classic Beehive style.

Sneak Peek! FashionistA Makeup for PPQ at London Fashion Week Autumn Winter 12

Well London Fashion Week is kicking off and last night I went along to the FashionistA makeup test for PPQ. Super exciting.

Whilst a hive of activity of hair, makeup and model casting, there was a strangely serene atmosphere at the PPQ studio. Strange because the show was less than 24 hours away.

Lots changed during the session in terms of the makeup choices, but I thought I'd share with you a couple of shots I took throughout the process. They may not resemble the final looks but it's all on the path to getting there!

I love a bit of Batiste for extra ooomph and styling hold, as I don't get greasy hair I have learnt that it offers much more than a short term alternative to washing.

It's fab for adding volume and adding grip as well as keeping any oiliness at bay.

This time I used the Ready-To-Wear Luminous Foundation from FashionistA (stocked at Superdrug) in Shade 1 Nude. It provides an excellent coverage yet looks really natural and glowy. Super happy with that one! The coverage is so good I didn't need any concealer. Bonus! I have product pics at the end of the post for you.
