I recently did a little home experimentation with the new L'Oreal Wild Ombres Dip Dye kits and was very pleased with the results. But because I had quite a few highlights through the top that I had done at my fave salon FOUR London during the summer, the contrast between the top and the ends of the hair wasn't quite as dramatic I wanted. My boyfriend's friend asked him for tips on his impending first date and of course I had to get involved. After putting my first point in, which was BUY THE DRINKS, I decided to take to twitter to get some help from the girls. I mean, I think we all need all the help we can get when it comes to such scary situations!

This is what I asked:

When I say clueless I promise I am not being judgmental. I just think that a lot of lads genuinely don't understand the minefield that is  the first date. I am not sure that I really get it either!

And in a few minutes flat, this is what I got back. It seems the women of twitter have lots of help to offer on the matter. It was suggested to me, as you'll see, that I should write it up to help all the boys looking for help in the future and so here it is.

Meeting Elizabeth Hurley for Estee Lauder's Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

When I received an email from Estee Lauder offering me the opportunity to interview their global Breast Cancer Awareness ambassador Elizabeth Hurley, I nearly died!! Interview Elizabeth Hurley??! Yes yes yes, without a doubt, as long as I could hold it together!!

I have always liked Elizabeth Hurley because she is such an icon for sexiness and youthfulness.  I never really knew how old she was but I remember watching her and Hugh Grant and loving 'that dress' and I was definitely younger. You would not know that she is 47! Not at all, not from any angle and certainly not on closer inspection. Flawless is the word.

She is so youthful and amazing. You really can't fake that with makeup! She has the most gorgeous firm skin and bone structure, with a killer figure and arms to die for. And so feminine too.

Seeing her with Shane Warne and his son was so nice. They seemed like a genuine unit and it gave me a lovely warm feeling. Excuse the gushing!

It is easy to see that the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign is very important to Elizabeth Hurley. Having worked with Estee Lauder as a model for many years, she has developed a strong relationship with the company as a whole, and obviously Evelyn Lauder who died of cancer last year.

The relationship appears to be incredibly strong and Elizabeth is genuinely passionate about the cause. She is so involved and interacted with every member of the public that approached her. She shook hands, she made eye contact, she chatted and even pulled the little children up on her lap.

I was so impressed and I think they have exactly the right ambassador - gracious, friendly and very real. I wanted to kiss her! But she probably would have run a mile and I might have been taken to the floor by security. Who knows?! But I did want to!!

So get ready for my interview with Elizabeth Hurley herself, and can I just say now, thank goodness for dictaphones. I was so awe-struck, I didn't remember a thing after!

This year sees the 20th anniversary of the Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign and to celebrate this Estée Lauder Spokesperson and Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Ambassador, Elizabeth Hurley, made a very special appearance at Selfridges on Oxford Street last Monday. It was soooooo exciting!

I was invited along by Estee Lauder to interview the lady herself and oh my goodness, she looked amazing!!! Elizabeth Hurley is even more gorgeous in real life than I expected. She's absolutely stunning!

To Youtube or Not to Youtube? That is the Question...

Ok this is really short(ish). It is a bit less of a post and more of a fact finding operation. I hope you don't mind!

I have been blogging pretty much since the day I discovered this amazing online phenomenon and I absolutely love it. It is all kinds of amazing and brilliant to me and I feel that somehow, after all these years, I have finally found my calling. Yay (yay yay #YAY)!!

Only thing is, more and more recently, the lovely people I meet keep telling me that I need to get into making and sharing YouTube videos. I hear this from the wonderful people I have met that are already established in YouTube and are so generous of spirit that they want to share the success they have experienced. They will know who they are!

My problem is that I am considerably older than the majority of YouTubers out there and I honestly don't know whether there's a place for me. I have dabbled in a bit of video over on my rather half-hearted channel  attempt (here) but I have never really gone for it.

I kind of feel that it would be like starting all over again. The thing is, I am more than happy to start over again, but maybe only if it's something that has at least a small chance of being something that people are interested in.

Oh!! You know what I mean!!! I am rambling really but I would be really keen to hear your thoughts on this subject.

Should I stay in the written word, with my old school pics ( embarrassingly edited in paint!) or shall I attempt to add a new string to my bow???
