How to: Tortoiseshell Nails at House of Holland

Check out these stunning nails seen on the House of Holland AW13 models at London Fashion Week.

The look was all about tortoiseshell and it was created by nail maestro Sophy Robson using Leighton Denny Expert Nails to match the fabulous tortoiseshell accessories that complemented the collection.

Take a look at these boots!

I had a chat with the Leighton Denny team and they explained how to achieve this stunning but super simple look.

Here is the low down:

  • Start with Leighton Denny 'Meet Me in Monaco' (pastel orange shade) just dabbed on to the nails leaving some blanks
  • Next apply Leighton Denny 'Brick Road' (yellow shade) with a striper brush - dab it on top of the pastel orange
  • Then use Leighton Denny 'Not Tonight' (red-based chocolate brown) on top in the gaps
  • Press the nail with your finger to smudge and blend
  • Finish with a layer of Leighton Denny Crystal Finish

It is such a beautiful look! As soon as I can get my hands on the shades I am going to give it a go.

  1. I loooove this! It's so unique and cool, I'd never have thought to do something like it! Love the tortoiseshell boots with the teal trim too, very cool!
