New CID Cosmetics BodyGuard Collection with Swatches

Last night I went along to see The Bodyguard at the Adelphi theatre with New CID Cosmetics -  to celebrate their official sponsorship of the new musical. It was a brilliant night! If you love a bit of Whitney, along with a nice helping of 'good cheese' than you will probably really enjoy it. I have been humming the tunes ever since!

As part of the collaboration, New CID Cosmetics have produced a fab BodyGuard Makeup collection which includes 3 eye colours and 2 lipglosses that celebrate the essence of the show in colour and name. Apart from the fact that it offers some gorgeous textures and shades, it is also a super bargain - £35 for the set but actually worth £74. Not bad whether you are into the Bodyguard or not! Here's a look at it:

New CID Cosmetics BodyGuard Collection

It comes in a lovely box so would make a really good pressie. Here are the individual products and some swatches. First up the limited edition i-colour long wear cream eyeshadows:

Malin + Goetz Tobacco Candle

A candle fragranced with tobacco isn't one I'd usually reach for, but since I have learnt (a little bit) more about fragrance I have begun to appreciate the wonder of tobacco leaf as a gorgeously deep base note. The Malin + Goetz Tobacco candle is absolutely beautiful!

Malin + Goetz Tobacco Candle

It has a lovely subtle sweetness of vanilla and honey which lightens and smooths the smokiness of tobacco and woods, making it a candle that I think will have an all round appeal. Here's a list of all the ingredients:

Murad Age-Diffusing Firming Mask Review with After Photo

I really love treating myself to a bit of face mask action and when Murad launched its brand new Age-Diffusing Firming Mask, I definitely felt it was my kind of mask. Firming has become something that I am really interested in, not just your everyday lines and wrinkles any more!

This is ten minute mask promises to promote collagen production, diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles and restore radiance. Well I was just loving the sound of that!!

It is a lovely creamy mask that feels cool and soothing - I have used it twice now. Here is a photo of just after I have washed it off:

JLS Love Fragrance

Outfit: ASOS Denim Boilersuit and Free People Jacket

Another little outfit post for you! This is a boilersuit! Yes it is. And before you ask - it is quite tricky if you need the loo but also very easy when deciding what top goes with what bottom! I picked it up from ASOS for £50.

Outfit: ASOS Denim Boilersuit and Free People Jacket

The jacket is another favourite from fab brand in the Urban Outfitter family, Free People. It is really cute - made of sweatshirt material but girlified by a gorgeous floral print. Love it!

So let me show you the boilersuit...(actually I prefer to call it a jumpsuit...but ASOS calls it a boilersuit) without the jacket (anyone know the difference?).

YSL Volupte Sheer Candy - Sheer Nourishing Lipstick: No12 Tasty Raspberry Review with Swatches

Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail Polish - Tantalize 120

Brilliant Strength has a built-in strengthener and a protective base and top coat which promises stronger, harder nails with reduced peeling, breaking and brittleness. Pretty nifty eh?

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation Review with Before and After Pictures

This is latest foundation launch from Revlon. Check out Revlon Nearly Naked - "A revolutionary foundation that helps you discover your new kind of Naked". This is 150 Nude.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation Review

I was really excited to try this foundation because the hype from Revlon is all about lots of skincare benefits, soft focus effect (I like) and a light as air formula. Revlon says that Nearly Naked "balances skin and makeup so they work together - allowing makeup to mimic the skin's tone and texture."

Outfit of the Day: J Brand, J.W. Anderson and Free People

I have had a bit of a result with sale bargains and gifts this week. I am so excited about clothes right now!! Here is what I wore yesterday - check out my first ever pair of J Brand jeans!

Outfit of the Day: J Brand, J.W. Anderson and Free People

I have wanted a pair of J Brands for a long time but never gotten round to snagging a pair. However, when I checked out the much talked about Donna Ida sale, I couldn't resist these J Brand 620 skinny jeans because they were only £55!! With the original price at £220 I could not say no!

Illamasqua I'mperfection Collection

Yesterday I went to my first ever Illamasqua event! It was very exciting as it is such a cool, edgy brand that I have always been really interested in, but for one reason or another, ReallyRee and Illamasqua have never got any further than one lipstick - which I love by the way!

So I'mperfection is the first Illamasqua collection I have had a proper look at, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed.

Illamasqua I'mperfection Collection

I think I am most excited about the Speckle Nail Polishes:

Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y ABSOLUTE Eau de Parfum

This is the news and the launch that has completely made my week and is responsible for all the happy tweetings of the last 24 hours. Stella McCartney has just launched her newest fragrance, L.I.L.Y ABSOLUTE and I got to meet her to find out all about it! Yay!

Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y ABSOLUTE Eau de Parfum

It is an absolutely gorgeous scent that plays on the beautiful contrasts of dark and light, masculine and feminine. The nose behind L.I.L.Y ABSOLUTE, Alberto Morillas, said that Stella knows exactly what she wants and that the fragrance is like an English garden in spring, yet deep, woody and very sexy. Now that is my kind of English garden!

Stella herself was, as we all expected, really cool in an edgy, undone glam kind of way. I got this quick shot of her - everyone wanted her boots:

NEOM Organic Body Scrub

This is another absolutely wonderful product from NEOM Organics - the Organic Body Scrub.

NEOM Organic Body Scrub

As someone who consistently relies on fake tan to take the edge off my blueness, scrubs are a staple part of my body care routine, so finding a good one is really exciting. This is a good one. Yay!

Clarins Gloss Prodige in Water Lily 09

Adore this new gloss from the Clarins Rouge Eclat Spring 2013 Collection. This is the Clarins Gloss Prodige in Water Lily 09.

Clarins Gloss Prodige in Water Lily 09

Clarins Gloss Prodige scores serious glossy points in that it smells and feel divine whilst giving the lips a super boost of much needed hyaluronic acid which is delivered with the Clarins Maxi Lip peptide. Snazzy! It works to make lips look fuller.

The high shine is thanks to a 100% natural polymer. The Water Lily shade is so so pretty. Here it is on:

Botox at Courthouse Clinic

After months, well years, of deliberation, I finally decided to take the plunge and go for botox. What swung it was that I am SO interested in it as a beauty topic that if it hadn't had such taboo status, I would certainly have tried it ages ago. I never want to get bogged down by taboos and quite frankly, the only way to find out if it was for me was to try it. So just before Christmas I did it!! Excitement does not describe how I felt.

I had my treatment at Courthouse Clinics where Jane, aka British Beauty Blogger has been going for years, so I felt in really safe hands - particularly as I had observed Jane receiving treatment there previously.

I will talk more about the treatment itself later, but for now I think it is before and after pictures that you want to see.

I have chosen 2 photos where I have very similar hair and makeup so that you can see the difference most clearly. Focus on the eyes and crows feet as that is where I had my treatment.

This is a before shot:

Elemis Aching Muscle Super Soak

Oh my goodness! What a godsend the Elemis Aching Muscle Super Soak has been!

Elemis Aching Muscle Super Soak

After going all out at boot camp last week I have to say that my body was pretty much in bits. I kind of limped home and I have never experienced muscle soreness like it! When this bottle arrived from Elemis, I dragged myself up the stairs and ran a bath immediately.

Rococo Nails Unisexy Matte Leather Look

This is my first ever Rococo nail polish and I am loving the matte black look. This is Rococo Nail Apparel Unisexy Matte - it gives a wonderful smooth leather look:

Rococo Nails Unisexy Matte

For me, it's all about texture in nails right now and I really like the finish of this one. It is like leather but not in the Nails Inc sense, where it is grainy and slightly coarse, but in a smooth, sheeny way. In fact, it reminds me of my Chanel lambskin leather wallet.

Chanel Lambskin Leather Wallet

I think it is a super chic look.

Rococo's Unisexy Matte Nail Polish is available for £12 at Space NK and leading spas.

Snow Outfit: Vintage Coat

Quick post for you! Just thought I'd share this snap from the park in the snow today, as there has been a distinct lack of outfit posts since I went to boot camp!

Vintage Coat

I got this coat from Lovely's Vintage Emporium where you'll find a whole host of treasures. Lovely's has 30% off today with code SNOW.

I am wearing some fleecy kit I bought for Lapland last year underneath, the boots are Hunter and the hat is ASOS.

I felt really snuggly!!

New!! BaByliss Curling Wand Pro

Exciting news from BaByliss!! There's a brand new product launching tomorrow in the new Argos catalogue!! Check out the BaByliss Curling Wand Pro.

BaByliss Curling Wand Pro

It is a brand new version of the Curling Wand (which is one of my all time faves from BaByliss) but it is even better! The new Curling Wand Pro is chic black and has a longer barrel than the original Curling Wand so it's perfect for longer hair!

It also has hair wrap technology - Wrap Control - which keeps the hair in place and prevents it from sliding off the wand. I am excited about that! I have a sample winging its way to me so I'll give you a full review as soon as I can.

Here are the specifications:

Shooka Boot Camp Diary: Day Six and a Severe Weather Warning

Day 6 at Shooka actually turned out to be our last day of training due to the fact that we all had to make the decision to leave for fear of getting stranded. It was bitter sweet, as all our eyes were so firmly set on the goal, but of course, we knew it would be great to get home. But anyway, back to Day 6.

Day 6 was an absolutely amazing day. I love every minute of it. It felt as though my body suddenly remembered what it was like to be fit and I had so much energy and felt really strong!

Shooka Boot Camp Diary: Day Five and Lava Shells Massage

Today was quite a hard one at Boot Camp. All the training sessions were quite a lot tougher but amazingly we all coped really well. Had we been made to do that on the first or second training day, we would have completely died. Really.

Everyone is so happy at how much their fitness levels have improved and the trainers are so proud too. It really does feel so good. Obviously I still ache quite a bit but I am looking forward to feeling fitter and wanting to continue to exercise.

Shooka Boot Camp Diary: Day Four and Nails

I had an absolutely brilliant day at Boot Camp today! Great food, great exercise and brilliant company. I had so much fun and felt really good. I won't go into too much detail as I think it could get a bit samey but here is a look at the schedule for today just in case you'd like to know:

I did my nails this evening after we had a little general knowledge quiz (my team won!) so I thought it would be a good opportunity to move into my blogging comfort zone again!

Here is the little nail kit I took away with me:

Shooka Boot Camp Diary: Day Three (and Fake Baking Susie Amy)

I kind of had my most fun day and my worst day at boot camp today. Let me tell you!

I'll start with the food! I absolutely loved it today. We had yummy porridge with coconut, pomegranate and molasses for breakfast, chunky fish chowder for lunch and gorgeous, gorgeous steak for dinner. The food made me really happy.

I also really enjoyed the first session, boxing. I partnered up with lovely Brooke Kinsella who is a total sweetheart. She might be little but she packs a powerful punch and helped keep me really motivated.

I also enjoyed the next session which was Clay Pigeon shooting. I started off rubbish and then got really rather good (even if I do say so myself) so that was really rewarding, if not a little cold!

Then we had a beach session....I have to start this off by saying that I absolutely hate the sand, particularly wet sand and so this 'fun' activity was actually my worst nightmare. We basically did circuits on Dawlish beach which involved press ups (in the wet sand), sit ups ((in the wet sand), crocodile crawls ?! don't ask (in the wet sand) and many more things that I could cope with on a nice dry floor. We then had a game of bucket ball (all covered in wet sand) and I absolutely hated it! Everyone else seemed to love it....I did not. In fact, I was so horrified that I probably could have killed. Bit hey ho it's over now!

What I will say is that Dawlish is very pretty and if any army man ever invites you to a 'beach session' in the bleak mid-winter, make sure you are covered head to toe in waterproofs. Nuff said. I don't have any pics of the session, I don't want to think about it again!

Back at the ranch we did an abs blast which I loved (because it wasn't in the wet sand) and a very interesting self defence demo and we were done for the day.

After dinner the real fun started! We have 2 lovely ladies from Fake Bake here at the Boot Camp and one of them, gorgeous Victoria, gave me a little crash course in spray tanning!! YES! Now we're talking..

And guess who I practised on?! Susie Amy!!! Susie is such a sweetie and was so lovely to let me have a try out spray tanning on her!! Obvz I was under the close supervision of Victoria but here is some of my handy work!!

Check out the muscles on her back - that's 2 days at Boot Camp for you!! Susie and I both want to do the professional Fake Bake spray tan course and Victoria says we can!! Exciting!!!! We'll be spray-tastic.

I am in a world of pain with my muscles but getting a go on a spray tan gun has certainly made me forget about it a bit! I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a tough day but as long as it doesn't involve wet sand, I'll be fine.

*I am attending as a guest of Shooka Boot Camp for the purpose of review.

Shooka Boot Camp Diary: Day Two

Ok, so today wasn't quite the breeze that yesterday was. In fact it was really rather tough!

But I am in my onesie now planning when I am having my Lava Shells massage and all is good with the world.

It was tough but it was a really brilliant day and I feel so good that I got through it.

I got up at 7 and we were all out by 7.30am for a fitness test and a road run. Results were recorded so we'll all do that again at the end of the week to see how much our fitness levels have improved.

After that we came back and had breakfast. I drank my juice happily while I waited for my breakfast only to be given the bad news that the juice was my breakfast. Oh how I LOL'd!!

After that it was off for Tabata training which is ratio training - 20 seconds working and 10 seconds rest. It was really good, although quite hard, but the way it was structured meant that is was easy to stay motivated. It flew by.

And then it was snack time. Half an apple and a handful of nuts. Really good but I wanted more. Obvz!

Then the final session of the morning - circuits. It was my worst one but it was the last intense session of the day so it was all good!

Lunch time!!! Sweet potato, goat's cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds and rocket. I loved this!

We had a lovely break and got ready for the afternoon's activity - the walk! I was picturing a stroll but it was actually a 3 hour 8.5 mile hilly hike. Ouch! But hey! It is boot camp after all.

When we got back we had a lovely snack - rice cake and spicy guacamole - and I felt rather content.

Until the ice plunge! I can't believe I did it, but I did! I was told that if I spent 2 full minutes in a freezing pool my muscle recovery would be vastly enhanced. Considering I was already stiffening up, I couldn't really say no. It was genuinely the coldest I have ever been in my life but it made getting into the hot tub that much sweeter! I felt quite proud too.

We finished with a dinner of lovely Thai green curry - I have no pics of the last 2 meals because I ate them before I even thought about instagram!

In the evening we all chilled out and had a play with Lava Shells, which are an amazing massage tool. I am going to have a full treatment later in the week.

Here is Calum Best having a go!

We chatted with our lovely Shooka boys. This is Stuart Saxby (left) the man in charge of getting us fit, and Bear (right) there to attend to our every need. Except he won't smuggle in Mars Bars.

I'm quite achy but I am really looking forward to tomorrow. Who knew?! Visit to find out more.

*I am attending as a guest of Shooka Boot Camp for the purpose of review.

Shooka Boot Camp Diary: Day One

Shooka Boot Camp Diary: Day One

Hello from Devon! Well I have to say that Shooka Boot Camp is really rather nice so far! Check out the hoodie I got! Admittedly we haven't actually done any exercise yet but hey, I am taking it each day as it comes. The most terrible thing so far has been driving down the narrowest winding lane crossing everything that another car didn't come!

I had a lovely welcome from the Shooka team, was shown to my very nice en-suite room which I have now trashed (will show you a pic of that when I have tidied up), and had a team briefing about what was in store for us.
