The Estee Edit Fluid Metal Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Ree
Editor-in-Chief

I have become very interested in The Estee Edit again after the Carnaby Street store launch and the amazingness of the Gritty and Glow Palettes! If you like high shine eyeshadow and intense pigmentation then you need to check out the The Estee Edit Fluid Metal Eyeshadow collection. I have lots of photos and swatches here!

So the idea is that if you apply the liquid and then blend while wet you get a wash of translucent colour. If you apply directly to the lids and allow it to dry, you get a full coverage finish. You can also use a liner brush to apply it for a liquid liner effect.

There are six shades in the collection:

  • 01 Party of 1 – Baby pink with multicolored pearls
  • 02 Got It Bad – Sparkling gold beige
  • 03 Sparked – Brilliant copper foil
  • 04 Not Sorry – True cobalt with flashes of green pearl
  • 05 So Extra – Oil slick with green, purple, and blue duo-chrome pearls
  • 06 Don’t Be Afraid – Deep blackberry with pops of violet sparkle

I have four of the shades swatches to show you, 02 Got It Bad, 03 Sparked, 05 So Extra and 06 Don’t Be Afraid:

They are very cooling on the skin and have brilliant pigmentation. I like to apply one coat and blend it out for a soft, blended look, and then add another layer on top, but not all the way to the edge of the first coat, for more intensity.

Got It Bad (here) and Sparked (here) are my favourites (rather predictably) but I am looking forward to trying the darker shades for when I am looking for something a bit smokier and more intense.

I really like these. They are a very similar concept to the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Chromes (which haven’t launched in the UK), but a higher quality as you would expect with the price point.

You can find The Estee Edit Fluid Metal Eyeshadows HERE in the UK for £20 each. Find them in the US for $24 HERE.

Thanks for the post! The concept also seems very similar to the new L’Oreal eye paints but I believe the EL ones are lot more shimmery
