Happy New Year! I love New Year so much and once the champagne is popped and the parties are over I like to get down to the very serious business of making New Year’s Resolutions.
If you’re looking for some beauty goals this year here are 5 you can try!
1. Take off your makeup every single night before bed
If you don’t take your makeup off every night before you go to bed I’m challenging you to make it your resolution for this year. Late nights can trip you up when you just want to get under your duvet without a full cleansing routine so the next best thing is to keep a bottle of Micellar Cleansing Water (Garnier’s is fab and just £3.33 for 400ml) and a pack of cotton wool by your bed so you can take off your makeup before you go to sleep, your skin will thank you in the morning!
2. Try something new
If you’re stuck in a beauty rut make it your resolution to get out of your comfort zone and try a new beauty trend! If you need some inspiration we’re expecting low ponytails, red lips and heavy eyeliner to be everywhere this year!
3. Finally master the beauty trick you could never do
From applying false lashes to mastering the perfect winged liner or the at-home blow dry there’s always one trick we wish we had up our sleeves. Make it your goal this year to learn that skill, practice always makes perfect! (I could never apply fake lashes with confidence until I was 26 and now I’m a pro – if I can do it, you can do it!)
4.De-clutter your products
This is my main beauty resolution this year. Whether your makeup fills one drawer or one whole room of your house chances are you have some products in there that are out of date, you’ve stopped using or you’ve never even opened! De-cluttering helps you stay organised and makes room for new products in your collection (as if you needed an excuse!)
5. Make time for treatments
I always purchase lovely deep conditioners and yummy face masks with good intentions but I’m always so busy that I hardly ever make time to use them! If you’re like me then this is the year to get into a routine with your treatments – get a pamper night written in your diary and stick to it!
