GOSH have recently released their Spring Summer Collection for 2017 and they have some exciting new products including the new GOSH SS17 Eye Xpression Palettes and some CCC sticks too.
Firstly, are these new Eye Xpression eye shadow quads, which appear to have a ‘nature’ theme to them. I received three to try from the new collection and have had time to test them out. Each of the quads come with 3 quite large matte shades and 1 shimmer shade. The shimmers in each palette are the lightest shades in each quad with deeper mattes for transitioning and depth. The formula of the shimmers is more of a satin finish with slight glitters and they are very pigmented. The matte shades are not the most pigmented of mattes that I’ve used and do have fall out when using them, however they do feel very smooth and blend quite well.
GOSH SS17 Eye Xpression Palettes- 001 Back To Nature
The first palette is called 001 Back To Nature and it’s made up of a peach shimmer shade and 3 cool and warm tone matte shades. It’s great for a simple daytime smokey eye.
GOSH SS17 Eye Xpression Palettes – 002 Thunderstorm
The second palette is called 002 Thunderstorm and this is perfect for the traditional grey / black smokey eye. The shimmer shade is a light taupe colour whilst the mattes are a mixture of greys and a black shade.
GOSH SS17 Eye Xpression Palettes – 003 Urban Nature
The third palette is called 003 Urban Nature and this is the more colourful of the 3 palettes I received. The shimmer shade is a white tone, with the mattes comprising of a forest green, navy blue and a rustic orange/brown. Personally this is my favourite of the 3 as it’s definitely one that I can create a more fun look with. I love the brown shade in this palette as a transition shade on my skin tone.
GOSH CCC sticks
The second of the new releases that I received was the new GOSH CCC stick. This is a multi-purpose stick that can be used to contour, cover and conceal. Each stick contains 4.4g of product and it is packaged as a retractable product. I believe there are 5 shades in total – and I received the shade 005 Dark. The CCC stick has a creamy formula, which glides onto the skin quite easily. I find that I have little trouble blending out the product when using a dampened beauty sponge. It does tend to dry to a powder finish, however I did experience a little creasing when using it under my eyes, so setting it with a powder is important.
As I received the darkest shade, there are 5 in total. I will say that the shade Dark can be used as a contour for light to medium skin tones, however dark skin tones such as myself can only use this as an under eye brightener (concealer) or brow definer. However, I do think that medium to deep tones could possibly use this to cover (which I believe GOSH are suggesting that it could be used as a foundation).
