Missguided Babe Power – The Fastest Selling Perfume This Summer?

It’s not often that I am completely seduced by packaging but the new Missguided Babe Power fragrance appealed completely to my blogger side. Find it here

This fragrance is the fastest selling perfume this summer at The Fragrance Shop and with good reason.

As I mentioned the packaging already let’s start with that.

It’s rose gold! I don’t need to say much more than that for most people after my own rose gold lovin’ heart but I will continue. It’s a novelty bottle, I say bottle but it’s a can, similarly sized and shaped like an energy drink. Not only does it look like a can but you have to push down on the ‘ring pull’ to dispense the perfume. Such a great idea and completely original. Reminds me of the quirky packaging from Moschino.

Although the packaging of Missguided Babe Power is novelty, its contents are not. Within the can walls lies a complex, warm fragrance that immediately transports you to your last beach holiday.

As with most fragrances that boast vanilla and fruity scents you would be fooled to think that this would be a sickly, candy sweet but it definitely is not.

The first thing you notice is the warm, musky vanilla and amber scent followed by a hint of candy floss. This immediately invokes that ‘seaside’ vibe.

However, this has hearty floral notes and fruity top notes which, after a few hours on the skin, really shine through and you’re left with a very fresh scent lasting hours after application.

Admittedly the initial scent wasn’t something I would usually enjoy but the scent you are left with is much more up my alley. The sweet hints of peony which is one of my all time favourite notes are left lingering on the skin. These delicately entwine with the orange blossom, grapefruit, crisp apple and sour cherry.

There are a number of things I love about the perfume. The scent being the obvious one followed by the packaging, but the fact it comes in a fantastic 80ml bottle at a purse-friendly £27.50 is definitely up there. Already I can see why this is the fastest selling perfume this summer.

The added touches though, that is what makes this special. For example, you get an outer sleeve which hosts the Babe Power Commandments. Although they do require to be taken tongue in cheek they are sending an important message to the wearer. Like the fragrance, you are to be strong, feminine and unique. Definitely wise words for women of all ages.

Overall I have to admit this has taken me by surprise. It’s not my usual scent preference but I know it will be my go-to scent for the rest of the summer. Order Missguided Babe Power online here
