My Faves and ‘Not So’ Faves at the Golden Globes 2012

There were a few Red Carpet appearances at the Golden Globes 2012 that really appealed to me and also a few that kind of missed the boat in my eyes. Here’s my run-down!
My Faves…
Shailene Woodly in Marchesa

I have to be honest and say that I don’t really know who this is, but I thinks she looks amazing. It’s a perfect amount of chic and sexy, and she is the right side of pale to pull off this colour. Lovely.

Emma Stone in Lanvin

Emma Stone is definitely one of my style stars. This dress looks amazing on her and I am in love with the 2 jewel tones – gorgeous flash of ruby down the side panels. She does seems to be going from strength to strength.

Claire Danes in J.Mendel

Claire Danes has come up with classic perfection for me here. I want this dress!!

Selma Hayek in Gucci

And check out Selma Hayek is this shimmering metallic Gucci number. Super sexy but still chic with the most amazing curves. Selma is prone to showing a bit too much ‘up top’ but she looks perfect here. I think Kim Kardashian should have a look at this!

My ‘Not So’ Faves…
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier

If there was ever (and I strongly stress the word ‘if’) a place for tie-dye, the Red Carpet is NOT it!!! This messy dress topped off with a high pony tail makes me completely cringe!

Kelly Osborne in Zac Posen

Ermm not sure what to say about this one (and I can’t wait to hear Kelly defend herself on E!’s Fashion Police which she co-presents). Well… she looks awful. Her hair is terrible, the dress doesn’t fit, she looks pinned up by her shoulders and the darts have given her nipples that point to the floor. Shocking.

Madonna in Reem Acra

Not the best I’ve seen from Madonna. The cap sleeves give her man arms and there is too much going on with the bottom of the dress. And the one handed glove definitely doesn’t look right with a Golden Globe in it.

Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen
Now I know that Reese is featuring on quite a few of the Best Dressed lists, but it just isn’t working for me. It looks a bit dated and her hair looks quite 80s. I just feel this doesn’t live up to the well turned out Reese I have seen in the past. But maybe it’s just me!
And there you go. That’s what little ol’ me thinks. But then…what do I know!!?? I would love to hear your views. Leave them in the comments if you will!!

Absolutely agree re: Clare Danes, she looks amazing. Definitely not a fan of Reese’s 80s tribute! 🙂 Sarah x

I agree with your choices apart from madonna’s dress which is absolutely divine. In fact, I would love to be able to wear it myself

Agree on all except Kelly Osbourne… I thought its suited her style – think she’s always going to be a bit eclectic and gothic and I think this dress remained true to that. I also thought the colour suited her and liked the hair up with it. Don’t think this is the best picture I’ve seen though!

Totally agree, I was also loving Heidi Klum’s dress – simple & chic. Sarah Michelle Gellar, gets the ‘I don’t know what you were thinking award’, Reese’s dress just swamps her – she normally does put togther & elegant so well! xxx

I absolutely adore a lot of these girl’s dresses. I hated Kelly’s though and Sarah M Gellar’s – no idea really. xx

Totally agree about Reese’s dress! Everyone loved it but I just wasn’t feeling it! I dunno, always find it strange when celebs opt for red dresses on the red carpet… My fav was definitely Evan Rachel Woods, her green sequin & feathered gown was gorguz! 😀

    Love Aysh xoxo

Totally agree with you on them all except Kelly O. Her dress seems to have really divided opinion, but I think she looks amazing.
To be fair to Sarah Michelle Gellar, she looks awful but she did say that her little daughter picked out her entire outfit, so maybe not so bad.
