Oh hello! The second I laid eyes on this new Acid Peeling product from The Ordinary I just had to get it on my face! This brightly coloured treatment brightens up and decongests in just 10 minutes. Here’s everything you need to know about The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution.

Some people are obsessed with acids and others are scared. To be completely honest, I am in the middle because I know they can have a brilliant effect on skin, but at the same time, over-use will do you no favours at all. Because they deliver pretty instant results it’s possible to get a bit too acid-happy!

This new addition to The Ordinary line up should only be left on the skin for ten minutes and used not more than twice per week.

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Key Ingredients

  • 30% Alpha Hydroxyl Acids (Glycolic/Lactic/Tartaric/Citric)
  • 2% Beta Hydroxyl Acid (Salicylic Acid)
  • Hyaluronic Acid Crosspolymer
  • Vitamin B5, Black Carrot and Tasmanian Pepperberry

In case you’re not really sure why you would use this kind of treatment, here’s a little recap on the benefits of using acids in your regime.

Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA) work to exfoliate the skin’s top layer to for a brighter, more even-toned complexion. Beta hydroxyl acids (BHA) also work to exfoliate the skin and also help clear pore congestion. The combination of the two offers up a deeper exfoliation with the dual benefit of clearer skin and increased luminosity. It sounds good doesn’t it?

With 30% AHA and 2% BHA, this is an intense exfoliator that also works on fine lines and wrinkles as well as texture, tone and radiance.

This is a rather clever formulation because it tackles the issue of irritation caused by acid exfoliation. With the inclusion of Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative, irritation is calmed and soothed, whilst crosspolymer hyaluronic acid comforts the skin. Vitamin B5 is includes to aid the healing of the skin and black carrot defends against free radicals.

Now it does say that you should only use The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution if you are an experienced user of acid exfoliation and you don’t have sensitive skin. I didn’t read that part when, having been so impressed with how this made my skin look and feel, I slapped it on to my boyfriend’s skin for ten minutes! But it was fine! His skin was glowing and calm afterwards and stayed like that for a good couple of days.

How to Use

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

It is really easy to use. You simply cleanse your face and make sure it is totally dry before applying the treatment like a mask. It has a serum texture that glides over the skin easily and makes it bright pink! Fully rinse away after ten minutes maximum and then make sure you use a product with sunscreen as the acid makes you more vulnerable to sunburn for up to a week afterwards.

I absolutely loved the effect it had on my skin. Straight after it was soft, smooth and glowing, and my enlarged pores appeared less obvious. Excellent. I have used it twice now and it is definitely a keeper.

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is £6.30 and available to order online HERE now. It really is an amazing bargain! In case you missed the news, The Ordinary are also launching foundations in 21 shades. Read about that here.

Hi, I have mild rosacea and I’m currently using Alpha H Liquid Gold with no issues. Do you think I could use this? Thanks!
