There are so many different styling products on the market right now but none of them will work unless you get the basics right. Let’s start at the very beginning. Here are our top tips for getting the most out of your shampoo.
1. Before you set foot in the shower…
Make sure your hair is tangle free. If you start out with knots, you will most certainly finish with them, and hair is stronger when it’s dry so get to work now!
2. Soak your hair!
Make sure your hair is completely wet before using any products. Use water with medium heat so you don’t scorch your hair or scalp.
3. Don’t Over Do It!
Use a small amount of shampoo and rub it between the palms of your hand before letting it touch your hair. First massage it into the scalp and concentrate on the roots. Go gently so you don’t cause any tangles.
4. Don’t Pile it all up!
Leave your hair flowing downwards. Piling it up on top of your head will cause knots and over-expose the lengths of your hair to product.
5. It’s all about the scalp!
Concentrate on cleansing the scalp rather than the actual hair. The shampoo that rinses through the lengths of the hair is enough to gently clean it.
6. Repeat Everything
But this time with less shampoo. There must be a reason the pros always use 2 washes, and we often double cleanse our skin, so why not our scalps?
7. Do an extra rinse
Make sure every trace of shampoo is gone because left over product will cause irritation and dull your all important shine.VIEW MORE >
