Microdermabrasion is a facial treatment you will have heard of and probably seen on the treatment list at Beauty Treatment Clinics. It’s a non invasive, non chemical procedure that uses a fine spray of micro crystals to remove the outermost layer of dry, dead skin cells and so reveal a healthier, clearer looking complexion. And whilst microdermabrasion is very effective, having this treatment at a clinic can be costly, especially as you will want ongoing sessions. I’ve never had microdermabrasion at a treatment clinic and to be honest this has been because I have heard that your face can be left a bit sensitive and red afterwards, which has put me off. So when I was asked to try out DermaTX At Home treatment, I was prepared to be left with a bit of a sore face and made sure the first time I tried it out was at night. But there was no need as this hand held tool is so gentle on skin, I had no redness or soreness at all.
The DermaTX Microdermabrasion kit (here) comes nicely boxed with the Resurfacing Tool – which is a battery operated hand held tool, with two interchangeable heads and stand.
The Exfoliating Foam Head is used with your chosen microdermabrasion cream. The massaging action of the foam pad allows the crystals in the cream to gently exfoliate the skin and the active ingredients to absorb easily.
The Cleansing Brush Head can be used with your usual cleanser and is more effective than manual cleansing. Using the brush head will really help to clear pores. The gentle massaging action of the tool means that both head attachments softly work the cream in to your skin without any irritation.
There are three creams to choose from:
- Brighten – to reveal your radiance. Vitamin A exfoliates skin to help reduce the signs of photo-ageing and brightens the complexion giving skin a radiant glow.
- Clarify – to clear your complexion. Salicylic Acid exfoliates skin to decongest clogged pores to help reduce breakouts and reduce inflammation.
- Rejuvenate – to get the glow. Lactic Acid accelerates skin cell turnover, encouraging new skin cell production, which helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and minimise pore size.
