I just filmed my first ever favourites video! It’s a February Favourites for skincare and makeup and I had so much fun making it. I can’t believe it has taken me so long. I hope you enjoy it. If you prefer to read, I have all the info below.
I have always really enjoyed watching favourites video but never got involved with doing monthly favourites here on the blog and I really don’t know why! Just in case you aren’t into watching videos, I thought I’d recap everything here for you. Let me know if you have any questions.
February Favourites | Beauty 2019
So this month, there’s a mix of favourites across makeup, skincare and there’s also a fragrance that I haven’t even managed to feature here on the blog yet. I will list them all here, with my thoughts and links to more information, in the order I feature them in the video.
February Favourites – Makeup
There are eight makeup favourites for February. They are all a little on the luxe end of the scale, so I promise next month to try to include more budget friendly options. Sorry, I am a bit of a learner at this favourites lark!
Charlotte Tilbury The Icon Palette
So this is one of the products that I am most obsessed with. The Icon palette from Charlotte is super unique with the most beautiful textures and shades that can be used both wet and dry. I have a full swatch post on this February Favourite here, and there’s also a whole video dedicated to it. That’s how much I love it. You can buy it here now for £55. It is limited edition so snap it up.
Tom ford Shade and Illuminate Intensity 0.5
This is like a new old favourite, or an old new one! Let me explain! I love the original Shade and Illuminate in Intensity 1 but now there’s a brand new shade, Intensity 0.5, which suits my skin tone even better. There’s also a deeper shade, Intensity 3, for darker skintones. You can check out the swatches here.
YSL Touche Eclat Shimmer Stick
I feel like the name doesn’t really do this justice, because they deliver a gorgeous sheen rather than a shimmer. I love shade 1 Light Gold for a soft, sheeny highlight that catches the light beautifully. The texture is gorgeous – it glides on to the skin so wonderfully without disturbing foundation, and blends out effortlessly. Love it. See the swatches and full info here. Buy it here.
Marc Jacobs Velvet Primer
This is a new product to me but I am really impressed. The new Velvet Primer is a conditioning base with a soft beige colour that helps to make sure you cover every lash and also intensifies and prolongs the colour of the mascara you use over the top.
I will have a full review on it coming up soon, but you can buy it HERE now for £22.
Sisley So Volume Mascara
I have been loving the Sisley So Volume mascara for a while now. It’s such a great mascara for really volumised, dramatic lashes. It is even more impressive over the MJ Velvet Lash Primer. Check out my full review here. It is available here.
Marc Jacobs Fineliner in Blaquer
I am always on the look out for a good black eyeliner I can use on the waterline, and this is it. It applies so easily, smudges out for a perfect smoky look and lasts all day and night. I love the black, but there are a range of gorgeous shades in the new Spring 2019 Marc Jacobs Beauty collection, you can check out the swatches there.
Nars Brow Perfector
I have been loving this double ended brow pencil in shade medium brown cool. It has a brilliant spoolie and it applies effortlessly without making the brows too blocky. It’s lovely. You can buy it online here.
Tom Ford London Suede Lip Color Satin Matte
This is a new lipstick discovery for me but I am totally obsessed! This is such a perfect velvety nude and it’s so easy to wear. It has a brown tone, but it extremely flattering on my fair skin and still manages to make my face look alive. It is available here now.
February Favourites – Skincare
I love all of these products and have been getting on really well with each and every one of them.
Marie Reynolds London Anoint & Hydr8
I love the MRL product range and I wouldn’t have wanted to be this duo this year. I have been mixing a pump of the Anoint Epidermal Oil with a few spritzes of the Hydr8 Misting Veil to calm, nourish, hydrate and soothe my winter skin. It works like magic. Find the Marie Reynolds London products here.
Glossier Milky Oil
This is a brilliant quick fix when it comes to removing long wear or waterproof makeup. You can read the full review here. I have been loving this to get rid of the bulk of makeup before I go in for a proper cleanse, and the neat little bottle is great for travel. It is £10 here.
Rodial Pink Diamond Cleansing Balm
This is a new discovery and I am pretty obsessed with it. Not only does it provide a brilliantly thorough cleanse, it also really hydrates and brightens the skin at the same time. When I use this to cleanse, my skin looks so good after – smooth, glowy and really juicy. It is pretty amazing. It really does deliver results after the first use, which you can’t say about all skincare products. You can order here for £55. It’s expensive but so so good. I didn’t expect it to be as good as it is!
Cle de Peau Radiant Multi Repair Oil
This is a real dream of a product! The Cle de Peau Radiant Multi Repair Oil is a multi-tasking beauty and I have really fallen for it. If you like dewy skin, like me, then you will be really interested in this. I have been absolutely loving this under makeup, mixed into my foundation, and also tapped on to the top of my cheekbones as a finishing touch. It’s divine. Check out my full review here.
The Ordinary Pycnogenol 5%
This has been an unexpected obsession but now I never want to be without it! The Ordinary Pycnogenol serum is the first time I have been properly introduced to the Pycnogenol ingredient which is a brilliant antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. I had a weird skin reaction where my skin flared up and went bumpy. I applied this neat to my skin and when I woke up the bumps were gone. You can buy it here for £8.60.
February Favourites – Fragrance
I have a new fragrance love and it such an easy one to wear. The new Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc is a simple blend of musc, cashmeran woods and white flowers and it’s so lovely. It makes me feel clean and fresh but it also has a smooth, warm vibe that’s really comforting. It is definitely worth a spritz. Buy it here now. It is selling out pretty fast already.
I hope you enjoyed my February Favourites in makeup, skincare and fragrance. If you would like to see it all in action, make sure you check out the video.
