Goldwell is a successful, salon professional haircare brand renowned for their client satisfaction. The Goldwell Kerasilk Control De-Frizz Primer is part of their Keratin range, and contains Keratin and liquid silk. It claims to tame unruly hair, changing frizzy textures to silky smooth ones.
Generally speaking, if I wash my hair and leave it to dry naturally I wake up looking like Sideshow Bob or an Abba reject. So when I saw this Kerasilk Primer can prep hair and de-frizz whilst wet, all while providing colour protection and heat protection, I thought I had genuinely found a miracle. I’m not particularly spiritual but this could have been sent from above.
Goldwell Kerasilk Control De-Frizz Primer Performance
Big, big promises are made from Kerasilk Primer, but how does it actually perform? Granted, unlike A LOT of hair products it did not affect my colour. When you have coloured, porous, blonde hair a majority of products cause your colour to fade into a washed out brassy tone. No fading with this, so far so good. The primer also made my hair silky soft and it helped to combat frizz, but I wouldn’t say it eliminated it completely.
However, I also feel like with hair products it can sometimes come down to how well you use them. Of course, I am no professional hair stylist. With a skilled blow dry, your locks would be silky soft; you would look like a genuine shampoo advert model. Picture your hair blowing glamorously in the wind. Applying whilst your hair is still partially wet and allowing to dry naturally – I still had a degree of frizz in the morning. Maybe my hair just can’t be helped?
Overall the product did help to decrease frizz and introduced softness to the hair texture. My colour had no fade (hurrah!), and I loved the heat protection it gives. I love a multi-purpose product. I feel if used in conjunction with the matching shampoo and conditioner and with a decent blow dry, over time this product could work wonders on otherwise untameable hair.
You can find Goldwell Kerasilk Control De-Frizz Primer at selected Goldwell salons nationwide.
